Mentoring Scheme for Early Career Researchers
- A voluntary one-to-one relationship in which an experienced professional supports a less experienced colleague in career development and personal growth.
- How it works: Matching, induction, and follow-up
- The scheme begins with an expression of interest and informed matching, followed by induction, regular meetings, and feedback after 3 months, 1 year, and 2 years.
- The mentoring relationship: Confidential, supportive, and flexible
- Mentoring is based on mutual expectations, confidentiality, and regular contact. Mentor and mentee agree on goals, meeting rhythm, and boundaries together.
- Action plan: Goals, steps, and review
- At the start, mentor and mentee define the current situation, goals, actions, timeline, challenges, and review points.
